Beth founded Protea in 2025 after more than 15 years in contracts, commercial operations and P&L leadership across energy and engineering. Working from contract creation, strategy and formation through to operational delivery she kept seeing the same problem. Businesses were losing margin and carrying unnecessary risk because their contracts weren’t properly managed and the expertise to fix this was both costly and hard to find.

She created Protea to change that developing a team of commercial and contract specialists working fractionally and flexibly around each customer’s needs, from a single high-value contract reviews to managing entire portfolios of contracts. The aim is always clarity, accountability and improved margins.

Her next step has been becoming a tech founder, Beth saw that her team’s insight could reach far more businesses through technology. The result is Protea Scope, a secure digital contract review platform that uses the Protea’s fair contracting principles matrix to highlight contractual risk. Launched in November 2026, Scope by Protea helps businesses understand their contractual risk quickly and clearly.

Beth is a passionate advocate for equality and inclusion, as co-chair of the AXIS network, she champions fair representation and helps others build successful careers. In 2023 Beth also co-founded a group of childcare business to support working parents. What started from personal need with lack of local provisions and has grown into several thriving, and now award winning, out-of-school clubs, working with local authorities and education providers to provide care for more than 400 children from over 250 families across Scotland.
